SEO London were chosen to partner with the City Solicitors Horizons programme to deliver an initiative aimed at improving access to the legal profession for first year undergraduates from disadvantaged backgrounds. The pilot was initiated by the City of London Solicitors’ Company, City Solicitors’ Educational Trust (CSET) and The Legal Education Foundation (TLEF), with the support of the City of London Law Society (CLLS) and leading law firms.

3-Year Support Programme

Each year, 50 first year university students either studying law or committed to pursuing a career in law, will be selected to participate in an outstanding three-year support programme alongside their undergraduate degrees. This will include:

Classroom and one-to- one training sessions

Our training covers the full spectrum of legal career paths.  It is designed to significantly improve your skills and equip you for your chosen law career.

Mentoring from lawyers at leading sponsor firms

Your mentors offer you regular face-to- face or Skype meetings and support you at critical times e.g. making applications for vacation schemes and training contracts.

Work experience placements

We provide you with excellent work experience placements with sponsor city law firms, in-house legal departments and various high profile legal organisations.

Students applying for the CSH programme should:

  1. Be committed to joining the legal profession at this stage of your university course.
  2. Have a strong potential to succeed academically according to your university.
  3. Be studying at a university based in London or the south east of England (please see FAQs for more details).

Please note:

Anyone who has already gained a training contract or has been selected for Pathways Plus is not eligible to apply.

You can read FAQs on the City Solicitors Horizons programme and application guidance.
