Department overview:


The Structured Finance and Special Situations desk is active in the structured illiquid credit space, providing flexible capital solutions to support a variety of situations, including infrastructure financing, portfolio financing, and credit-linked notes. The team acts as principal and distributes risk on an ad-hoc basis. The team is involved across the origination, screening, diligence, structuring, execution, syndication and monitoring phases of the transaction lifecycle. The desk seeks to hire a Senior Analyst to continue capitalising on the team’s strong momentum in EMEA and to support its growth across its client franchise. This role will mainly cover infrastructure financing, with significant focus on sustainable infrastructure, in line with Nomura’s strong commitment to ESG and sustainability.


Key objectives critical to success:



The successful candidate will:


  • contribute to develop financial models, prepare credit memos and prepare internal presentations.

  • have exposure to all the activities required to execute financing transactions – due diligence, credit analysis, term sheet and legal documentation negotiation, risk/return assessment, preparation of distribution material, booking of the transactions, and management of the existing positions in the desk’s portfolio.

  • manage relationships with colleagues within the Infrastructure Financing team and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • develop structuring, trading and risk management capabilities.

  • contribute to grow further the bank’s infrastructure financing platform.



Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:


  • At least 2 years of professional experience working for banks, advisory firms or Big4, in any of their financing, corporate finance, transaction services or investment banking teams. Experience in infrastructure investment or financing is a plus

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, credit analysis and presentation skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask

  • Strong numerical and problem solving skills

  • Good understanding of risk

  • Ability to manage own time and responsibilities

  • Proactive in investigating and resolving issues

  • Proactive in looking for ways to improve processes and controls
