CITY SOLICITORS HORIZONS
Established in 2015, City Solicitors Horizons (CSH) was founded by the City Solicitors Educational Trust (CSET) and the City of London Solicitors’ Company (CLSC). CSH is a three-year support programme aimed at improving access to the legal profession for first-year undergraduates from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
Each year, up to 50 students with an interest in pursuing a career in corporate/commercial law are selected to join the programme. Chosen candidates are matched with a one-week work experience placement at a sponsor law firm and paired with at least one legal professional mentor.
Participants are also invited to attend the CSH Academy, designed to give students at the end of their first year a competitive edge. The Academy offers a dynamic mix of sessions, including talks, interactive workshops, application advice, and networking opportunities, all delivered by professional lawyers and support staff from top-tier UK and US international law firm sponsors.
In recognition of its impact, the CSH programme was highly commended at the 2021 Law Society Awards and won the ‘Supporting the Industry – 26+ Employees’ category at the 2022 Modern Law Awards.
