Department overview:



Wholesale (WS) Technology develops and manages the applications that support the WS Business lines and Operations teams. The WS CAO team are responsible managing budget, financials and headcount along with a host of other day to day administration functions and ad hoc tasks across a department of approx. 350 staff, contractors and vendors.




Role Overview:


  • Reviewing month end accurals and postings to ensure accurate monthly financials

  • Production of monthly financial reports for department heads including explains for all over / underruns and tracking of capitalisation / P&L to plan

  • Investigate issues and discrepancies in group budget and actuals

  • Co-ordinate the preparation and load of the annual technology budget

  • Maintain financial and headcount forecast on an ongoing basis

  • Review purchase/spend requests for adherence to budget

  • Regular review and creation of project allocation keys to facilitate the accurate      dispersal costs

  • Keep track of the hiring and onboarding process for new staff and vendors.

  • Track the departmental hiring pipeline and monitor compliance with headcount targets

  • Maintain organizational information, org charts, occupancy & headcount

  • Maintain and update HR systems, headcount master and and org charts

  • Administration for joiners/leavers, including tracking dates, co-ordinating with HR,      updating financial forecasts and headcount records

  • Tracking staff timesheet completion and producing mgmt reporting to enable oversight of same

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization within the team

  • Ensure group compliance for mandatory training, appraisals, timesheets etc

  • Prepare / contribute to reports and presentations for EMEA department heads and      Global WS CAO

  • Maintenance of the Apptio Cloudability tool to allow for accurate reporting on our      external cloud / compute spend

  • Assist WS Technology staff of all levels with adhoc / day-to-day requests




Skills & Experience:


  • Strong Excel capability – confident managing large and complex datasets (Pivot Tables, Data Tables, Power Query, formulas etc)

  • Experience as a Technology Business Manager / CAO or in a similar technology role (e.g. Programme Lead, PMO, Finance etc)

  • Experience with managing financials or budget and confident with concepts of Cash, Capitalisation  and P&L, Accruals etc

  • Powerpoint skills a plus but not necessary

  • Comfortable working with team members of all levels across the Technology organisation
