About the job:
Aspect Capital are recruiting a Trading Analyst to join their Execution Team, which are responsible for the design, implementation and operation of the trading strategies they use across all of their investment programmes. Their team operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week from London using technology-focused solutions to execute around 20,000 trades per day in excess of 1,400 markets situated in over 30 countries around the world. Aspect Capital are looking for a graduate to join their team of 6 Traders who are part of a wider Execution-focused team of around 12.
On joining Aspect, you will have access to a wide range of learning opportunities. Time will be available for you to develop your technical skills and to help build your view of what is going on in the wider Front Office Trading community, you will be encouraged to attend events like conferences and counterparty meet-ups. Above all else Aspect Capital believe the best way to learn is by doing and they aim to have you taking on execution responsibilities across a range of financial markets soon after your arrival onto the team.
The trading systems Aspect Capital use are a blend of both software developed in-house and software licensed from financial technology providers. They are continually being improved and upgraded to ensure they remain leading edge within the industry and they regularly experiment with changing how they work by trying new technologies and techniques. Aspect Capital place a significant focus on collaboration both within the team and across the business, in order to provide their Investment Teams with the execution service they require to realise their expected returns in the markets.

Essential Requirements
A strong academic record with programming skills in at least 2 high-level languages; Matlab, Python, KDB+ and SQL experience is strongly preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking skills and able to demonstrate creativity in problem solving.
A keen appreciation for operational risk and able to quickly and effectively prioritise multiple tasks.
Evidence of continually learning and improving oneself.
The ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.
No previous financial markets experience is necessary, as training will be provided. We will help you build your career by ensuring you have access to mentoring and professional skills courses.
Please note this is an entry level role and therefore we don't anticipate that successful candidates will have more than a year of practical work experience.
