The TOTEM service, founded in 1997, provides the major market makers in OTC derivatives with definitive consensus market prices. More than 50 of the leading banks, trading houses and other investment professionals use the TOTEM service as the key independent check of their trading book valuations.

The service encompasses the equity, interest rates, currency, commodity, credit and bond markets, providing comprehensive matrices of vanilla prices and a wide selection of exotic products.




Duties and Responsibilities – “Your Role”



The Totem Product Development team consists of 5 Product Analysis & Design specialists located in our London office and is currently engaged on three main initiatives:



  • Providing tactical solutions for all new initiatives around Totem Product

  • Migrating some of the services on a new innovative and centralized platform powered by AWS and Python

  • Leveraging data science to drive new initiatives around Totem unique proprietary data


The successful candidate will be responsible for the conception, development, maintenance, and enhancements of consensus services on all asset classes by interacting with client-facing analysts and IT department to provide forward-thinking (both standard and tactical) solutions.





Duties & accountabilities



  • Providing tactical solutions to answer requirements on consensus services

  • Providing data analysis by combining internal and external datasets to drive new features adoption from our customers

  • Promoting new features to our customers via direct engagement on external facing PoCs

  • Participating in specifications of a Python-based tasks manager platform

  • Interacting closely with Business Development, Product Services, and IT to deliver a better product overall

  • Working closely with other product groups and the global sales team to participate in driving the business and identifying product opportunities




Job Requirements – “About You”



  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in a financial or quantitative discipline is essential

  • Proven track record in dealing with derivatives financial instruments as either Product Control specialist, Pricing role or Risk Management in a Financial institution

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience

  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problems solving skills are essential

  • Proficiency in Python desirable

  • Prior industry experience at reputable financial institutions or financial services firm is desirable

  • Practical understanding of the basics of mathematical finance and derivatives pricing

  • Knowledge of global regulatory requirements preferred

  • Strong attention to detail, both numerically and in written material

  • Willingness to be hands-on in dealing with requests, issues and queries relating to client valuations, analytics and market data

  • Ability to work well within a global team environment alongside other product analysts, quants and developers
