Capital Formation Senior Associate

What it's about:

  • Development Partners International, a premier investment firm focused on Africa is seeking an outstanding candidate to support its Capital Formation (IR) team, based in London

  • The primary function of the role is to promote DPI through the creation and development of investor materials to existing and prospective investors

  • The ideal candidate will grow to work closely with the Fundraising team to provide support and engagement across various aspect of the fundraising process

In your role, your primary tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Presentations: Creating material for existing and prospective investor discussions, driving key deliverables to completion and participating in various forums including AGMs and LPACs

  • Research: Initiate research to target potential new investors for business development opportunities and help prepare briefing pack and agendas

  • Industry & Stakeholder Engagement: Draft, create and coordinate presentations, submit online applications and awards for industry partnerships, gather industry data and research

  • PR: Support the firm's marketing and communications strategies and manage completion and coordination of press releases, deal and exit announcements, deal cards, website updates, social media updates and other communication channels updates

  • Investor Meetings: Organisation of meetings (including some attendance), and production of investor focused updates for broad external distribution, and punctual, accurate and informative responses to inbound requests

  • Additional functions include tracking and monitoring the fundraising process and creating, editing and updating data across marketing communications efforts (due diligence, conferences, and roadshows)

Key attributes will include:

  • 4+ years of institutional invesment experience within the asset management industry with a preference for private markets. Prior experience with a placement agent or in-house IR team within a Private Equity or Venture Capital firm required

  • Demonstrated experience in interfacing directly with limited partners and ability to work with the senior most members of the team on fundraising and IR-related endeavours

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a financial background to be able to interpret and explain performance

  • Strong project management skills including the ability to independently manage multiple projects, meet deliverable dates, prioritise, and organise effectively, and pay close attention to detail

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat

  • Prior experience drafting presentations, pitchbooks and other marketing materials

  • Fluency in French a plus
