Department Overview
The Global Markets Digital Office (‘GMDO’) has responsibility for identifying and executing new technology-led revenue opportunities across the bank’s trading, capital markets and investment banking businesses. The GMDO is a global team of technology practitioners and big thinkers who bring to life the opportunities presented by digital assets / cryptocurrencies, blockchain, artificial intelligence, digital banking and digital service.
Key objectives critical to success
We are hiring for a Future Digital Associate/VP in GM digital Office (GMDO) as a permanent, full-time employee based in London. You will work focused on investment and projects related to blockchain and digital assets. With scope and exposure across the full breath of Future Digital projects where you will have the opportunity to specialise in specific projects and technologies as your skills evolve. You’ll work closely with our portfolio companies as well as teams across Nomura including Global Markets trading desks, Investment Banking, Corporate functions, etc.
Responsibilities
Global coordination of Future Digital Initiatives, Proof Of Concepts and Pilots
Assist with capture, formulation and articulation of use cases, business cases and prioritization of possible projects
Participate in due diligence, financial modelling and/or market research related to fintech, digital assets, blockchain, data and other possible market infrastructure projects
Champion adoption of new digital platforms and ensure global alignment
Work with IT, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Market Data or other relevant functions to onboard new technology to the bank
Assist with strategy definition of the Future Digital program and communication to Nomura stakeholders across the Front Office and Corporate functions
Track innovation trends, emerging technologies and market leading peers within the digital transformation and innovation space. Bring new opportunities to the team for collaboration, implementation or investment
Liaise with relevant functions across corporate, build and foster good working relationships with them. Partner closely to deliver Global innovation and culture change programs of work
Work with global team on strategic initiatives and program manage the associated portfolio
Requirements
Relevant experience in strategy and execution in one or more of our focus areas:
Blockchain, Digital Assets, Crypto & Market Infrastructure- including the evolving regulatory framework
Investment or Consulting experience in blockchain, digital assets, crypto currency, decentralised ledger technology.
End-to-end delivery of transformation projects across global Markets trading, structuring, research & strategy.
Culture Change – Delivery of Hackathons, digital training initiatives and development of communication plans
Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proven experience in communicating with international teams (Including excel and powerpoint expertise)
A background delivering change to large institutions and working on change projects
Bachelor's degree or higher in any disciplines; MBA degree is a plus
Self-starter, proactive and a positive attitude
Able to work independently and coordinate with key stakeholders within the firm
Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment, and under pressure
Fluent in spoken and written English
You have outstanding academic and extra-curricular achievement, and can withstand the rigors of a rapidly changing, demanding and rewarding environment. You will be confident and comfortable working with an experienced team of senior leaders across the Global Markets Digital office, business heads and Nomura’s global executive leadership team.
