Position Description & Responsibilities
Our partner is looking for a European Real Estate Credit associate to join its industry-leading investment team to help drive its continued growth and expansion in the European real estate credit space.
Investment Evaluation
Provide leverage in the investment evaluation process across all property and transaction types; apply academic background and industry experience to assess investment opportunities across the capital stack and asset lifecycle.
Construct financial models and analytical tools to evaluate risk/reward and economic attractiveness of investments, including asset modelling, supply/demand analysis, competitive property positioning, regional economic drivers, tenant diligence, debt structure and waterfalls.
Incorporate inputs from brokers, advisors, consultants, research provides and other resources to help ctaft projection scenarios and assess investment return outcomes.
Prepare detailed Investment Memos to present the financial and strategic merits of transactions and key deal risks.
Present conclusions to deal teams and ultimately to the firms Real Estate Credit Investment Committee.
Observe and support senior deal team professionals in negotiation of transaction teams wiht counterparties and participate in internal discussions.
Assist in reviewing sections of key transaction documents, including Loan Agreements and Intercreditor Agreements.
Help drive full scope of business, financial, legal and confirmatory due diligence through the deal closing process.
Sourcing
Assist senior members of the team in developing borrower relationshops and sourcing lending opportunties.
Interface and develop relationships with prospective partners, real estate brokers, and other market participants.
Additional Responsibilities
Support the dedicated asset management team to track ongoing loan book performance and respond to borrower request and post-closing matters.
Qualifications
Degree in Finance, Economics, Engingeering, Real Estate or Management from a top tier undergraduate or graduate institution.
4+ years of experience in real estate investment / investment banking.
