Role Overview
Support Goldman Sachs Asset Management Private in satisfying the ESG regulatory and firm requirements via a robust ESG regulatory management program
Collaborate closely with deal teams, embedded business unit ESG subject matter experts, Alternative Capital Markets & Strategy Group (ACMS), Fund & Information Management, Fund Owners, Legal and Compliance on ESG regulatory disclosures, data collection and reporting requirements
Key Responsibilities:
ESG Regulatory Governance:
Coordinate closely with deal teams, fund owners, reporting teams, Legal and Compliance to digest and implement processes to ensure Goldman Sachs Asset Management Private is in compliance with ESG regulations and consistently evidencing work appropriately
Develop ESG process documents, such as ESG profiles for due diligence, Investment Committee memo templates and ongoing monitoring frameworks,
Work with ACMS to create standardized ESG DDQ responses, content for LP ESG updates and reports, marketing presentations, and other stakeholder engagement activities
Work with the ESG Data Analyst, Engineering, Strats, ESG Data Collection and Reporting Task Force, and external consultants to help advise on ESG regulatory-related data collection and reporting requirements
Support roll-out of ESG regulatory requirements by developing and providing training materials to deal teams and portfolio companies
Regulatory Implementation:
Work with deal teams and ESG business unit experts to formalize the robust integration ESG considerations into the investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, program development (materiality assessments, 100-day plan, etc.), implementation, ongoing monitoring and exit strategy support
Work closely with the ESG Data Analyst and liaise with Fund & Information Management to ensure requests for ESG data are coordinated with other data requests from portfolio companies and deal teams
Support ACMS and Fund teams on Fund disclosures for new fund launches and ESG regulatory reporting requirements for existing funds
Review and coordinate with ACMS on investor requests for ESG information and contribute towards written responses to follow-up questions
Stay closely updated on new and proposed ESG regulations and firm requirements that could impact the overall ESG governance framework, data collected from portfolio companies, and general reporting and disclosure obligations
Align with Goldman Sachs Asset Management Public to ensure consistency in rule interpretation and implementation
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and key skills:
Detail oriented and organized with strong writing and presentation-creation skills
Thorough, mature and professional
Able to connect various requirements across multiple frameworks and coordinate efficiently with various stakeholders – both internal and external
Proven ability to connect with deal and management teams and be a team player in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to excellence, integrity and collaboration is a must
Bachelor's Degree with a general preference for concentrations in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or Sustainability
Experience with key ESG regulations and standards including SFDR, Taxonomy, TCFD, UNPRI, SASB, GRI, etc., preferred
Experience with ESG KPIs/metrics preferred
Experience in Private Equity investing/industry preferred
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word with some awareness of business intelligence software and software tools
