Department overview:


Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. We have taken market-leading positions across the globe by leveraging the strength of our talent, client relationships and technology.


By developing strong relationships with our client base through consistent interaction, independent advice and pre-eminent access to Asia, we have built a powerful global franchise across interest rates, currency and credit products. Our client services cover both high-volume flow products and carefully tailored structured solutions. The team


We are a global market making team dealing in spot currencies, non-deliverable currencies as well as FX forwards and swaps. Our algorithms employ rigorous statistical and ML techniques to quote and risk manage a large portfolio of FX pairs.



Responsibilities:


  • Get involved with the implementation and maintenance of quantitative algorithms (e.g. alpha signals, pricing and risk models) in production.

  • Support trading activities by investigating model and algorithm behavior.

  • Work with the team to help with the release process of new or existing models.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor degree or above in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics from an accredited university.

  • Strong Java programming skills (object-oriented programming, good knowledge of basic data structures, dependency injection frameworks like Spring or Guice).

  • Experience with Gradle/Jenkins/Git or similar CD/CI environments.

  • Working knowledge of Python/Anaconda and q/KDB is a plus.

  • Experience in the eTrading space is a plus but not a necessary requirement.
