The Black Heritage Leadership Summit is a gathering of African Caribbean societies members and other Black Heritage students from various UK universities to meet representative leaders from various industries.
At SEO London, we believe that it is vital for our young Black leaders to be exposed to outstanding examples of Black excellence in order to be enabled and encouraged to flourish and aim high. We also believe that to limit the negative impacts of racism on young people, all sectors of society must engage with these issues through exchanging ideas and allyship.
SEO London’s vision of creating an equal society can only be realised through collective effort and through embracing the numerous values and benefits of diversity and inclusion. Throughout the summit, our senior leaders will deliver speeches and facilitate interactive lectures designed to inspire and empower young Black Heritage students to become successful and influential leaders, both within professional settings and community organisations.
Some topics we will be discussing on the day will be around:
-
What inspires our black leaders to lead and what can we learn from their experiences?
-
Overcoming issues with comparison and confidence and leverage it to hold space as a black professional.
-
Being assertive and how to add value to your culture, confidence in your cultural background.
