Information technology is a critical component of every organisations infrastructure that enables it achieve its business objectives and maintain a competitive advantage. We provide technology internship and graduate opportunities on 3 platforms; investment banking, consulting and corporates.
Investment banking and corporate technologists partner internally with business units and externally with industry leading technology companies to help redefine the way their organisation conducts business worldwide. Technology consultants help their client achieve a measurable increase in performance by implementing IT initiatives and solutions that align with their strategic business plans.
Today’s global markets are increasingly complex and dynamic. All participating organsiations consider technology as absolutely key to meeting these challenges. Utilising innovative technology to deliver critical solutions to improve productivity, the organisations enhance their competitive position and profitability, while identifying and leveraging opportunities in the market place.
A technology internship or graduate opportunity can provide exposure to a vast range of projects. In investment banking, technologists utilise cutting edge software solutions to develop web-based delivery systems, trading analytics, risk management analytics, trade processing architecture and tailored customer management platforms. Corporate technologists develop, integrate and manage sophisticated systems and internal infrastructure that can reliably support the organisations growth. Technology consultants ultimately focus on advising organisations on the best way to use information technology to meet their business objectives. They also manage, implement, deploy, and administer IT systems on behalf of their clients.
A technologist’s responsibilities may span all phases of the project life-cycle. In addition to being IT aware and having an interest in financial markets in the case of investment banking, success in this programme area requires strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

I applied to SEO not only because of its invaluable relationships with its partner banks, but for the extra opportunities it offers. These include the support network of the alumni, mentoring, training, networking and exposure to many firms.
All these elements were vital to unlock the full potential of an internship and gain a foothold within the investment banking industry. In addition, the support, information and advice SEO provided can be hard to find within ethnic minority communities, which is where SEO steps in.
SEO has benefited me by educating me about the industry, its nature, its partner banks, and working in a professional firm in general. Things I have learnt can apply to many different situations and enabled me to develop skills I can use anywhere.
The key thing about the SEO programme has been the relationships I have built and continue to build from the networking events, enabling me to meet students from all backgrounds. I truly believe these relationships and the ones formed with the banks are some of the most valuable things that only SEO can offer.
