The SEO London internship Programme provdes outstanding penultimate and final year undergraduates from ethnic minority groups under-represented in the City, specifically those from Blacks and Asian backgrounds, the unparalleled opportunity to gain summer internships at the leading professional service firms in the City of London. By doing so, SEO London equally serves the diversity recruitment policies of its sponsor firms, as well as training a future generation of business and community leaders.

SEO provides its students with extensive training, mentoring and networking services, linking students not only to the firm they work with, but to opportunities and experienced professionals throughout the industry. The ultimate goal is for this experience to lead to a full-time offer - in the past nine years more than 80% of SEO summer experience students have been offered full-time graduate roles with partner firms, and in excess of 40% have received multiple job offers.

Through its unique networking series, SEO London will provide every student with access to senior partners at all sponsors of the programme. Every student participating in the programme will receive in excess of sixty hours of individually tailored pre-summer training to ensure they outperform their peers and maximise their chances of success. In addition, every participant will also be allocated a senior industry mentor to help guide them through their summer experience. Historically, as a result of this exposure and support, more than 80% of the students that have interned through SEO London have gone on to secure full time graduate positions with sponsor firms.

For Summer 2010 we will be able to provide more than 50 summer internships at our partner professional service firms. Placements will be for a range of divisions including Audit, Consulting and Tax. The placements will be for a duration of 6-8 weeks. The programme is open to penultimate year and final year undergraduates who will be staying in full time education (e.g. Masters) until the summer of 2011 and are from ethnic minority groups currently under-represented in the City, specifically from Black or Asian backgrounds.

I found the support SEO provided was exceptionally comprehensive.  The training, networking and mentoring all contributed to give me a rock-solid understanding of what to expect going into my internship and the confidence to deliver. The technical training in particular enabled me to undertake more sophisticated tasks than other non SEO interns in my division and really helped me stand out and ultimately secure a full time position.  I am now proud to be part of the SEO alumni network which I am sure will provide a permanent support structure for the rest of my career.
